National Wind operates under a community-based business model. Each wind project is structured as its own limited liability company (LLC) and is formed as a partnership between National Wind and local landowners and community members. Although we are generally responsible for managing and developing each wind farm, community members maintain significant influence over our developments and ultimately receive a large portion of the profits.
The important difference between our business model and other models is simple. We offer community members the opportunity to share ownership in the actual wind energy project. Instead of lease payments or royalty contracts, landowners receive real ownership and real revenue. We produce clean, renewable energy while benefiting local economies.
